The Sanctuary

The Solidago Sanctuary, accessible only by trail, was designed as an intimate retreat to be enjoyed in solitude as well as in group settings. This very special environment serves as the spiritual center of The Crossings. Hand-carved symbols representing the world’s major religions are embedded in the stone wall surrounding the courtyard. The Sanctuary’s management of light, air and orientation as well as the separate masculine and feminine garden areas encourage exploration into quiet, contemplative meditation or open, joyous group occasions. The labyrinth nearby, which was gifted to The Crossings, also invites quiet exploration and reflection. The stone bridge at the entrance to the Sanctuary is representative of “The Crossings” concept of connecting ourselves to the world around us.
